Flood Relief Camp

  • Tripura witnessed the worst flood situation in the last 30-35 years. Thousands of houses were destroyed, 32 people lost their lives, miles after miles of agricultural lands destroyed, thousands took shelter in temporary relief camps. Government was trying its level best to reach the people in distress and extend all kinds of possible help but to meet the demands instantly was a big challenge. Rotary Club of Agartala today got engaged in sharing the sufferings of the flood victims and distributed drinking water bottles, biscuits, Amul TAZA milk packets and other dry foods in Dr. B R Ambedkar HS School, Joynagar among 140 families and total beneficiaries were about 400. The local Municipal councilor, local PRI bodies and Bharat Sevashram Sagha also joined hands together in distributing relief materials. RCA Secretary, Rtn. Dr. Bidhan Goswami, Treasurer, Rtn. Er. Tarun Kr. Das, Rtn. Dr. Sarbani Debbarman, Rtn. Kisalay Ghosh, Rtn. Subir Bhowmuk, Rtn. Sukanta Goswami attended the camp.
