Free Medical Camp in the Campus of Kalyani Niwas, a Home for Destitute Children.

  • On 30th March 2025, Rotary Club Of Gauhati South (RCGS) organized a free medical camp in the campus of Kalyani Niwas, Rupnagar, Ulubari, Guwahati, a home for destitute children (Girls). Medical examination was done for various illnesses including gynecological issues , by a group of four Doctors and two nurses from Nemcare Hospital led by Rtn. Dr. Anil Mahanta. The names of the other doctors are Dr. Swaswati Sanyal Choudhury ,Dr Mridu Pawan Saikia and Dr. Abhay Garg. A total of 61 persons were examined by the doctors. Among them , there were children from Kalyani Niwas, a house of destitute children, Asha neer , a house of handicapped children and Amaya Chaliha open shelter for boys and few staff members from the Kalyani Niwas. After the check up free prescribed medicines were distributed to them by RCGS.
    During the camp, officials from Kalyani Niwas lead by Rtn. Krishna Barua , Secretary and other staff members of the organization helped and assisted the team for the smooth conduct of the camp. After the closing of the medical camp , the children of Kalyani Niwas presented a beautiful cultural programme with songs and Bihu dance. The songs presented by a visually impaired child has captivated the audience. There were 6 Rotarians, one Anne and 2 Rotaractors who actively participated in the camp
