Heart Checkup Camp

On 9th February, alongside our permanent Rotary Heart Check-up and Awareness Camp, the President and members of the Rotary Club of Silchar organized a special event to observe “Women’s Heart Month Awareness and Free Heart Check-up” at the Rotary Club Building.

The event was graced by members of the Heart Care Society, as well as the President and members of the Inner Wheel Club, who actively participated in raising awareness about heart health among women.

A total of 30 patients were examined by renowned cardiologist Dr. Ahmed Hussain Chaudhury, who provided necessary medical advice and prescriptions. During his session, Dr. Chaudhury highlighted the rising incidence of heart disease among women, attributing it to modern stressful lifestyles. He also emphasized that menopausal women are at higher risk due to hormonal imbalances, deficiencies, weight gain, and other physiological changes. He advised all women to prioritize heart health by maintaining a healthy diet, regular exercise, and routine check-ups.

To support the cause, free medicines and diagnostic tests were provided by medical representatives from Alkem, Sunz, Torrent, and Lupin. Additionally, Spirometry and ECG tests were conducted free of charge to ensure early detection and prevention of heart-related ailments.

This initiative reaffirmed the Rotary Club of Silchar’s commitment to promoting heart health awareness and community well-being, especially among women.
