One-Day Training Program on Pig Farming: Empoweri

Rotary Club of Gauhati South (RCGS) organised a one-day training programme on pig farming cum exposure visit of 42 numbers of farmers (female) on 27th September 2024 in collaboration with Assam Centre for Rural Development (ACRD). These farmers were selected from 20 different self-help groups from the Baksa District of BLT of Assam. The Krishi Vigyan Kendra ( AAU) of Kamrup Kahikuchi imparted the training and facilitated the exposure visit to their farm. The farmers were from the scheduled tribe community. Four Rotarians participated in the programme.
Rtn. Nawajyoti Sarma gave a welcome address while Dr. Dhirendra Nath Kalita Project co-ordinator and Head of the KVK Kamrup Rtn. Dr. Chandan Rajkhowa President RCGS and Dr. Krishna Sarma executive member ACRD addressed the farmers and inspired them with their valuable inputs. Dr Eilakshi Deka Subject matter specialist conducted the training and the exposure visit of the farmers to the KVK pig farm
