To mark the 75th Republic Day of India on 26th January 2025, the Rotary Club of Dimapur organized a special outreach program at Mother Teresa Home, demonstrating the true essence of service and compassion. The event aimed to support the needs of the home and bring joy to the inmates, aligning with Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self.”
1. Distribution of Sweets and Medical Aid
Understanding the requirements of Mother Teresa Home, the club provided essential medical aids to support the health and well-being of the residents. Along with this, sweets were distributed, spreading happiness and making the celebration more delightful for the inmates. The thoughtful initiative was warmly received, bringing smiles to their faces.
2. Donation of a Whiteboard for Educational Purposes
Recognizing the need for better educational tools, the club donated a whiteboard to facilitate learning and interactive sessions at the home. This contribution will help in conducting classes, therapy sessions, and other engagements, enhancing the overall learning environment for the residents.
3. Quality Time with the Inmates
Beyond material contributions, the most heartwarming part of the visit was the quality time spent with the inmates. Members of the Rotary Club of Dimapur engaged in meaningful conversations, listened to their stories, and shared moments of joy, ensuring that they felt valued and cared for.
4. Upholding the Spirit of Republic Day
The event was not just about donations but also about spreading love and inclusivity. By celebrating Republic Day with the inmates of Mother Teresa Home, the Rotary Club reinforced the values of equality, fraternity, and service to humanity, which are fundamental to the Indian Constitution.
The celebration concluded on a positive note, with the club members reaffirming their commitment to social service and humanitarian efforts, making Republic Day a truly meaningful occasion. - Mother Teresa Home, Dimapur
