Rotary For Wildlife

I wanted to provide a brief update on our visit today to the District Forest Office at Baburbag, Burdwan. Our rally addressed three key issues: 1. **Justice for the Pregnant Elephant**: We strongly advocated for the punishment of those involved in the tragic killing of a pregnant elephant in Jhargram, West Bengal. This heinous act demands urgent and just action to prevent future incidents and ensure accountability. 2. **Animal Protection and Awareness**: We discussed strategies to safeguard wildlife and the importance of raising awareness about animal protection. We explored various measures to enhance our efforts and considered how Rotary can play a pivotal role in these initiatives. 3. **Support for Burdwan Zoo**: We inquired about the current needs and requirements of the Burdwan Zoo to ensure its smooth operation. Understanding these needs will help us determine how we can contribute effectively to the zoo's success. Our meeting with DFO Sanchita Sarma was both informative.
