The Rotary Club of Siliguri Metropolitan proudly hosted an exceptional Teachers' Day felicitation program on September 5, 2024. Held at The Deck, PVR Tower, and served as a heartfelt tribute to the dedicated educators who shape the future of countless students.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Abhijit Shevale, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA). The event was further enriched by the participation of Rtn. Sumit Goyal, Assistant Governor of Zone – VI, and Rtn. J.K. Subhaiah, Assistant Governor of Zone – VII, whose support highlighted the significance of recognizing exceptional contributions to education.
Dr. Abhijit Shevale remarked, “This celebration is a tribute to the incredible dedication and passion of our educators. Their commitment to nurturing young minds is truly commendable.”

The Rotary Club of Siliguri Metropolitan recognized a diverse group of educators, including specially-abled school teachers, few government school teachers & members of our club who are in teaching profession.The awards honored their remarkable dedication, innovation, and impact in the educational sector with reputed intuitions for special children from Siliguri & adjoining areas including Matri Chhaya School , Bhimbhar Snehashram Dristihin Vidhyalaya Uday School for Special Needs Children,
Goodricke School for Special Education ,Prerana Educational Centre & North Bengal Handicapped Rehabilitation Society
Among the government schools there were teachers from Netaji Boys School,Siliguri Girls - Primary School ,Rabi Ratna Dhungana Nepali Balika Vidhyala ,Margaret (S.N) English School and
Siliguri Hindi High School for Girls.
