SAFE ABORTION DAY

International Safe Abortion Day is observed annually on September 28th. It's a global campaign to promote women's reproductive rights, access to safe abortions and reduce unsafe abolitions.

Key statistics:

- 45% of all abortions worldwide are unsafe (WHO, 2022).
- 220 million women lack access to modern contraceptives (UNFPA, 2022).
