SHARAD SANMAN 2024

On October 20, 2024, the Rotary Club of Tezpur hosted the Rotary Sharad Sanman Awards 2024 at the Bengali Theater Hall. This prestigious event has been a tradition for the past 15-20 years, where Durga Puja Committees under the Tezpur Municipality are evaluated based on various criteria such as Idol Theme, Pandal Design, Cultural Showcase, Decoration, Discipline during Immersion, Sound Pollution Control, Social Message, Social Responsibility, Dhak and Aarti Performances, and Lighting. Awards are presented for the best Puja overall, along with individual honors for each category.
A distinguished panel of five judges, all from prominent artistic backgrounds, was appointed for the evaluation process. The judging panel included Smt. Alka Sharma, Sri Debabrata Sharma, Smt. Kaberi Ghosh, Smt. Dipamoni Saikia, and Smt. Pinki Banerjee.
The Best Puja Award was presented to Bhairab Nagar Durgabari, with Embers Club receiving the 2nd Best Award and Madhya Tezpur Yuba Sangha (Nepali Patty) securing the 3rd Prize. The 4th Prize was jointly awarded to Ajanta Club Baroholia and Purba Tezpur Barowari Puja (Ex-Police Line).
Additional category-specific awards were as follows: Best Idol: Purba Tezpur Barowari Puja (Ex-Police Line), Best Theme: Bhairab Nagar Durgabari, Best Decoration & Artistic: Embers Club, Best Pandal: Madhya Tezpur Yuba Sangha (Nepali Patty), Best Cultural Showcase: Kamrupia Sanatan Dharma Mandali, Best Dhak & Aarti Performance: Ajanta Club Baroholia, Best Social Responsibility: Marwari Durga Puja Samity, Best Gate: Bengali Theater Hall, Best Lighting: Lalmati Puja Committee, Best Social Message: Bhairab Nagar Durgabari, Best Sound Pollution Control: Ban Theatre Hall, Best Environment-Friendly Initiative: Madhya Para Puja Committee, Best Discipline during Immersion: Bengali Theatre Hall, Best Volunteer & Hospitality: Rama Krishna Mission Puja Committee & Hindusthani Puja Committee (Jahaj Ghat)
The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Jyoti Kamal Hazarika, retired Principal of Tezpur College.
Rtn. Vaibhav Agarwal, President of Rotary Club of Tezpur, remarked that the Rotary Sharad Sanman Awards have now become a hallmark of pride and tradition for the club, eagerly anticipated by the Durga Puja Committees each year.
The event was attended by members of the Rotary Club, including Program Chairman Rtn. Debasish Nath, Co-Chairman Rtn. Ratnadal Sharma, Convener Rtn. Diganta Chakraborty, PDG Rtn. Sunil Saraf, AG Rtn. Mukul Bothra, Secretary Rtn. Siddharth Sethia, and other distinguished members like Rtn. Manish Misruf, Rtn. Dr. Saif Khurshid, Rtn. Dr. Navadal Sharma, Rtn. Sushil Golcha, and volunteers from the Rotaract Club of Agnigarh.
