Teachers Day

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day 2024,we began the celebration by paying floral tributes to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, marking the 63rd Teachers' Day. As part of the event, we honored five dedicated teachers at our club premises. Prof. Bibhas Deb, Principal of G.C. College, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The following teachers were felicitated during the event:
1. Smt. Rumlee Chakraborty
2. Smt. Uma Purkayastha Roy
3. Shri Subhash Chandra Paul
4. Shri Abdul Salam Hazari
5. Shri Pancham Dusad

The President and members of the club presented the honored teachers with *uttariya*, *manpatra*, and a token of appreciation. Each teacher shared their experiences through brief but heartfelt speeches.

Our Chief Guest, Prof. Bibhas Deb, delivered an insightful speech, appreciating the Rotary Club of Silchar's efforts to recognize the invaluable contributions of teachers on this special day. He emphasized the role of teachers as nation builders, stating that they play a vital role in shaping the future by imparting knowledge to the youth, who represent a significant portion of the population. He also highlighted the importance of *Matri Shakti* (the power of motherhood), noting that a mother is a child's first teacher and a strong mother helps raise a self-confident child, which in turn builds a strong and intelligent nation.

The vote of thanks was delivered by the Club Secretary, Rtn. Tamal Banik. The program was beautifully managed and coordinated by Rtn. Taimur Raja Choudhury and Rtn. Sankar Deb.

It’s worth mentioning that we also celebrated the Club’s Charter Day by cutting a cake, joined by all the distinguished guests in a joyous and fun-filled atmosphere.
