Tree Plantation Drive at JVSN: Promoting Sustainability and Student Involvement

A Tree Plantation Project was successfully conducted on 4th May 2025 under the chairmanship of Rtn. Dr. Nitin Agarwal. A total of 30 different varieties of fruit-bearing plants were planted on the campus of Janjati Vikas Samiti Nagaland (JVSN) as part of the initiative. The project aimed not only to combat global warming by enhancing green cover but also to provide long-term nutritional benefits, as the fruits from these trees will eventually support the dietary needs of the students residing on the campus.
The event witnessed active participation from Rotary members and was further strengthened by the enthusiastic involvement of the students from JVSN, who supported the cause by planting the trees themselves. Their contribution not only added value to the project but also helped instill a sense of environmental responsibility and ownership among the younger generation. This meaningful collaboration reflected Rotary’s core values of service and sustainability while nurturing a greener and healthier future.
