  • “Nature is not a place to visit, it is home”

A Butterfly Conservation Centre has been built in the premises of our Happy School, Old Malda Kalachand High School on 26/04/2025. In this garden, trees such as Atasi, Devdaru, Jaba, Dulfi, Kul, Beli, Patilebu, Kalkasunda, Rangan, Togor, Nayantara, Madhavilata etc. have been planted. The leaves of the above trees are the favourite food of butterflies, especially in the larval stage. Moreover, the full-fledged butterflies collect honey from the flowers of these trees. Many butterflies has already started visiting the garden. I hope that this garden will become one of the most attractive places in the District in future.
Through this project, we have been able to conserve 12 indigenous plants and butterflies in the same garden.
The Biodiversity Board and the Environment Department of the West Bengal Government have provided special support to this project.

Rotary's Environment Month is April, we dedicated this project to Environment Month.
